Bio:

I have lived in NYC most my life, and have spent summers in Vermont for the past 30 years
I also lived for several years in Italy.
I have studied art all over the country, the Midwest, San Francisco, and most recently at the art students league in NYC.
Most of my painting life has been as a realist. Two years ago I began painting abstract. 
A new world has opened up.

On Influence:

I have a lifetime of influences. I have had wonderful teachers. In my early years l was highly influenced by European painting.
The Renaissance was my foundation.
I moved on to 19th century English landscape painting, especially looking at Constable and Turner and then moved forward to the late 19th century and Impressionism. I admired Cezanne above all. 
I have finally moved to the 20th century and I am now enchanted by Matisse.
My influences are the marvellous artists in museums worldwide.
