7 year old Eda Sanchez stands in front of a gate across the street from her home and the Pentecostal Church where her father is the minister, in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. It is early February, 1988, two years before the cease-fire ended the Sandinista - Contra conflict. Elda, her father and aunt lost limbs when the truck carrying 52 people to the market in a neighboring town was blown up by a land mine planted the previous night. Of the 52 passengers, 49 were killed or severely wounded.
